Small Bore Rifle

On the second Sunday of each month, weather permitting, the SCVRC Jr Program hosts smallbore rifle training and some NRA tournaments at the Santa Clara County Field Sports Park (SCCFSP). While these events are directed towards juniors, everyone is invited to participate. The purpose of these events is to develop skills in outdoor smallbore (.22 long rifle) position (prone, kneeling, and offhand) target shooting. With advance notice, some equipment (rifles, scopes, shooting mats, etc.) is available. Additional training is available (Saturdays from 10:30 to 2 pm) at the San Jose Municipal Firing Range (SJMFR) at 1580 S. Tenth Street in San Jose (408-275-1738).
